About Us

Futures Early Education is an all day centre, providing quality care and education for 3 to 5 year old children, in a welcoming homelike environment.

Futures has a 100% qualified and registered teaching team, which is supported in its professional growth by the Nelson District Kindergarten Association’s senior advisory teaching team, and with ongoing professional development opportunities.

The pre existing family home has been completely refurbished to provide safe, comfortable, and modern surroundings for your child. The attractive garden and central water feature invite children to explore, investigate, run and climb.

Our unique positioning within a wider school campus offers opportunities for interactions across the school sector. Our neighbours include, Kindergarten, Primary, Intermediate, College, and more recently Futures Positive Beginnings.

Futures Positive Beginnings, which caters for 6 month to 3 year old infants and toddlers, is located just around the corner. This centre is run alongside Futures and with regular visits between the two centres, optimum transitioning experiences for our children and families are ensured.

We recognise the moral support that having a sibling alongside can offer, so our mixed age groupings and relationship with Futures Positive Beginnings works well if you need care for more than one child. Keeping families/whanau together is highly valued.

Equally important for children is a constant group of friends, and uninterrupted periods of time for children to play, where learning can flow in the natural direction of children’s interests, increasing engagement and depth of learning. This offers daily stability and supports our transition to school programme.

Our mission is to celebrate children’s individuality and nourish their curiosity, independence, creativity, and self-esteem. By fostering positive learning attitudes and challenging children’s thinking we expect that each child will be empowered to reach their individual potential.
